good call by making yourself a workstation...

Once you have an organized place to work on your bike with your tools handy... you'll wana work on your bike more, which is a good thing.

my garage has a ton of droors and cabinets so I just store everything in your there outa the way.

But on one wall we have nails hammered in about half way at an angle pointing up.

I hang helmets, hats, golves, shoes and sweaty shirts up there.....

Do you have a bike stand? I got the cheapest PARK stand and i regret it...its super unstable but does fold up nicely.

anywayz...

The best way for the allen wrench is to drill some holes in the 2x4 at an angle
and plant them in.

If holes are not an option, you can screw copper or steel retaining straps (used to hold water pipes/ elec. coduit to a wall, etc.) to the face of the 2X4. This will give you a sturdy "U" to hang a number of different tools. Just about any hardware store will have both.
