Default Mavic Wheelset advice

I need some advice. I am looking at getting a Mavic wheelset. I want the dual braking setup. My current bike still have rim brakes, but I want to replace the frame early next year. I am having a lot of problems with my current rear wheel. Spokes either work loose or break. I have had a local bike shop re-true the wheels a couple times already and have had the spokes replaced.

I am looking at the Mavic Crossride UB/Disc and the Mavic Crossland UST. What is your opinions on this?

I am on a budget, so the Mavic Crossmax are out of the question.

I ride XC and looking to start endurance racing next year.

Thanks in advance.

The Mavics are to heavy for racing, the WTB LaserDisc XC are durable enough for trail riding and light enough for endurance racing.

If I were you, I would take my rear wheel to someone who know how to use a spokes tension tool and have an experience with wheels buildings.

With the complaints that I have talked to people about bike shops and work performance, I think that is out of the question.

I am looking for something strong more than light. I am a 220# rider.

The Crossride and Crossland both meet my requirements. Trying to make the best choice.

The Crossland is one step up from the Crossride. Don't know if it's lighter or what, but it is one model up.

I have a set on my HT and haven't had any problems with them.

... I've had two set and they are great. For the price you can't go wrong. UST and steel spokes, rim brake option, Not the lightest but very durable and versatile.

I ran crossrides as well for about 18 months. Not really sold on bladed spokes(availability), but the weights competitive(under 2k grams) and the pawls are LOUD! I think I had them true'd once the whole time I rode on them. They're hanging in my garage at the moment as a backup.
