Default Riser bars

Anyone have any thoughts on riser bars? I remember getting some bars on my last bike that had maybe an inch rise and had better handling and control on the down hill. My bars I have now are pretty straight. I saw some 2 inch risers on price point http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/114...=17&zmap=11419

Hard to beat that deal for $10, shipping will cost almost as much though.

Anyway riser bars are pretty much standard on most dare I say "all mountain" bikes. Most flat bars are found on xc race bikes. It is preference though, it will certainly put you in a better position for descents.

I figure it would shift my body weight back over the back tire more, but might hinder the climbing.
You'd think I would know this after riding this long
