Nothing makes me feel like a worry free 6 year old kid more then the first ride on a new bike. Never shared that first ride with a friend on his first ride too. That had to have been really cool.

Niiice!!! Congrats Jeff and you better make it out to Bootleg Part Deux!! I rode Roger's bike when we were out at Aliso the other day and that thing is soo sick, I am already starting think about how I can afford a DH rig.

Beware that Roger... He is a great guy but he will inspire you to spend your life savings not that there is anything wrong with that But seriously he should get a commission check straight from Intense for every Socom he sells...

It is so hard because there are so many compatability issues: stay clearance, pivot clearance, ISCG old vs ISCG 05, Chainline clearance, ring size compatability, chainring bolt pattern. Most of the manufacturers are pretty clueless about which guides fit thier bikes. As soon as we think we have a bike/guide/crank/BB combo figured out, with just a little grinding, E13 has yet another guide option. Now, we look like we're just pushing what we have on you guys. It would be one thing if there was a big DH/FR seen locally and folks were buying chainguides all of the time like front deraileurs or something. The fact is, I sometimes go weeks at a time without being asked about chainguides.

I know exactly what guide to use on at least half a dozen bike models. That still leaves me clueless for most bikes.

It's not E13s fault. They're just trying to make guides that fit everything.

So, we stock like $2000 worth of E13 guides, and we still have to special order guides all of the time. When we install a guide, we are often in the same boat as you guys. We often resort to researching message boards, or trial and error. Our techs install as many guides as anyone in this area. We all know which guides fit the bikes that we ride, and the bikes that we have installed a guide on lately. Other than that it can be a bad can of worms.

Maybe we can start working on a chainguide compatability chart.
