Default k2 customer service?

I destroyed 2 bearings where the rear triangle meets the suspension rocker.

Balls ejected and destroyed the bearing spacer.......causing massive play.

lame design, shoulda used bigger bearings.

I didn't know K2 was still in the bicycle business. Can you go back to the bike shop where you purchased the bike?

Measure your bearings, and go here: http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id169.html

And read the bottom here: http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id55.html

K2 is owned by :looks around: Iron Horse

They were bought out about five years ago.

Their customer service went from great to crap. (at least as far as warranty is concerned) I wouldn't expect them to have many parts on hand either.

But, give them a try. Just don't get your hopes too high.

i emailed the place i purchased from. No respinse yet.

I busted out my calipers and measured the old bearing race as best as i could. (have to remove it from the triangle first to accurately measure)

im gonna try that enduro bearing place! nice site! you all rock!

the engineer in me said, bronze bushing on a lathe with a spiral grease groove and a zirk fitting LOL (like we use on porsches)

support the load better...

You could use a bronse oilite bushing with out the groove. Seems like both would collect crud though.

What about delirn or UHMW?

Or you could just go to the local bearing place and replace what you have.

Default Bearing Press

Here's what I ended up using for a bearing press if you decide to do it yourself.

Get a long threaded rod w/ appropriate nuts and washers for both ends. Use appropriately sized sockets to push against the bearing. That black thing is leftover steerer tube. You'll just need something large enough so that the bearing can push through.

Wait, the guy who works at a high end bike company is using a rigged bearing press? I'm sure Chumba has something better than that you can use.

Me? I actually don't work at Chumba. I work for a media company that publishes popular women's magazines.

I just happen to own a Chumba or two.

But, yes, they use arbor presses with some machined bits at Chumba to press in/out their bearings.
