Default Cane Creek Double Barrel

Anyone have experience with this shock?

I can get the RP23 with larger air canister or either of the DHX 5.0's on the Titus El Guapo but I'm wondering if the Cane Creek shock is any better.

Default It's sick

I had a Doubl Barrol on my Sunday for a while. It is super tuneable. It performs really well. For my needs, the lighter, pushed DHX coil seems to be the ticket. You have to know what you are doing tuning suspension to get a great ride out of the Double Barrol.

the CCDB is an ohlins shock, i know you know about cars so that should speak for itself. Tani is right tho, with the double adjustable rebound AND compression you better know how to properly tune a shock to get it to perform right.

Thanks guys. I like what I hear so far. I have some really talented people available to help me dial it in and I'm more than willing to learn every detail of what I can make the shock do and how it affects the bike.

Which shock do you think would have a higher resale value? The larger air canister RP23 or a DHX 5.0 Air or DHX 5.0 Coil? 8.5"x2.5""

When I called them and asked, they seemed very confident in the shock for heavier riders.

I weigh about the same as you and they said a 500lb spring would be the right one with the dimensions of my shock.

It's pretty cool how they go about it. They don't list sizes, they just make it according to the specs your bike requires. It's a 3-4 day process of building it and shipping it out, as long as they have the right Ti spring. If you're going with a steel spring they will most likely have the spring you need.

I would assume these "build to fit" orders are the main reason such a shock is priced like it is. My big bike will have one for sure! now if I could only decide what to get..

I don't even know what retail is on this...EP pricing rules.

Get an ASX from Adrenaline. Maybe throw a Fox 40 on there.

The ASX is a great bike, but I still have my eye on 6 other frames...

The frame that has my attention the most right now is the Specialized Demo 8 and Transition Blinside.
