If it's for the MiNewt X2 Dual I would say yes. If it's for the single I would say no. I work part-time at Beyond Bikes in San Diego and our price is $209.99 for the dual and $159.99 for the single.

If you're interested, we price match too though, so maybe call and ask for Zack on Monday. He should be able to hook you up and maybe help with shipping too.

I'd look for a Dinotte 200L instead, a few more lumens (not that you can really tell I don't think), a for a few more bucks but gives you the option of both helmet and handlebar mount.

What type of riding are you planning to do with it?

Street, fireroad, singletrack?

I would opt for something with a little more candlepower if you planning on riding any singletrack at night. The more light you have, the faster you can (safely) go

That light would work fine for The Fully Loop, some people ride with less. I personally run the Minewt up top and a Hid on the bars. Like Dubjay said the brighter the better.

I'm looking at the MiNewt X2 Dual, Classic Plus, or putting together a TurboCat system of similar price.

If you had to pick between those three which would it be?

Don't know about the TurboCat, but I own the Classic Plus and have seen the MiNewt Dual in use.

I would say the Classic Plus is just as bright--seriously!! People always think I'm crazy but that light basically drowns out HID lights--for all of 90 minutes, then the battery dies.

Halogens work OK and the bulbs are cheap to replace, but their limited battery life is a deal breaker for me. I ran the Classic Plus on the bars and a Digital Evolution Smart on the helmet for a long time. They throw plenty of light, but like I said, less then 2 hours battery life.

HIDs are good, but the bulbs are expensive if you ever have to replace them. My strictly personal belief is that LED is where it's at. My Tri-Newt is just as bright as an HID, if not brighter and the battery life is longer.

So my advice is to go with the Mi-Newt.

Proponents of HID flame away...
