embed YouTube with BBcode

BBcode is just a fancy name for the tags on the forum that let you do stuff like bold text, add images, links, etc.
[html]Examples: this makes stuff bold and this makes stuff italic[/html]
STR now has the ability to embed youTube videos within posts using BBcode.

Here's how:

Youtube URLs always have v=xxxxx at the end. That stuff after the v= is what you want.

For example, the youtube URL, http://youtube.com/watch?v=JFwCCL0Vh6U

PHP Code:

means you use [youtube]JFwCCL0Vh6U[/youtube] 


Here's what that code does . . .



Please use this feature sparingly. If the video is non-work friendly, remember to say so on the thread title by adding "NWF" or "not work friendly" to it.

Good question. I'll see if I can figure something out for google video. Putfile is probably a no go though.

Alright Kid A, here ya go for google videos. Take the code after docid= in the google video URL and stick it in our googlevideo BBcode. Here's an example from the following URL:

from

PHP Code:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-162891478515007486 


you'll use the following tag:

PHP Code:

 [googlevideo]-162891478515007486[/googlevideo] 


That previous example:

I cant find what they use for their embed code. All the videos I checked on putfile have "Sorry Code Not Available Yet" where the embed code is supposed to be.

I've always just done lowercase. I have noticed a few issues lately but for the most part it still works fine.
