I'd vote for one. Throw in a SS forum too.

Make a poll. If there's a lot more people for it then against it then we'll talk.

How many users are there on STR? Just a thought, but won't having to many forums kind of seperate everybody? Since STR is kind of a smaller venue, having us all crammed into the same room keeps us socialable with everybody.

That's why you gotta vote against it if they post a poll. And about the users -- almost 500 members but only about 200 active (active = signed on within the last 30 days). Around 100 unique members check the forums each day, depending on the day (not counting other non-members). Hits are closing in on 1.5 million a month with over 40k hits a day and around 600 'visits' per day.

i agree completely. We are a small community and don't need to be divided up even smaller.

Some of the other mods also expresssed concern over the same thing, and it's certainly something to take into consideration. The only other forum we were thinking about maybe making in the near future is a beginner forum. STR is growing so it's something to keep in mind, although the growth isn't too much right now.

How many of us would actually visit the Beginner Forum to help out the beginners? I've been riding since 1993, and Pain Freak has probably been riding close to 30 or 40 years longer than that (ooh, what a burn). But I'd never claim I was an expert in that I was the answer giver for all the newbies. I'm much more humble than that.

I would rather STR be a place where the beginners feel welcome, and confident their questions posted in General Discussion or The Workshop would be quickly answered by MTB veterans.

Can we have a "Once a distance runner now a crappy Mountain Biker" Forum?

No wait, thats too broad: make it a "Once a distance runner now a crappy Mountain Biker who likes to watch the TV show "the office" Forum. Then I can finally have some folks to chat with.

lol I guess "freeride" is a bad word around here. like 2.7 tires and 8" travel bikes. lmfao should i have used "aggressive trail riding" or "newlines" forum?
ok the ANTI-freeride forum. that works better
it's all in fun
