what do you mean by "dual gearing"? probably a simple answer but i dont understand the question...sorry

I think he means having two cogs on either end. One setup for the trails and the other for say commuting to the trail with a much bigger gear. You would have to stop and manually move the chain to the desired cogs. Some people do not like to spin on a 32:18/20etc... to the trailhead on the road. Anyways there are many threads on this at MTBR as well as arguments because the purists don't believe it is a true single speed. Hope this helps.
