is "earned" related to thanks earned in the course of a post that you originally started?

or is it related to the number of "thanks" that you've given out?

Thanks are the number that you have given to others.

Here is what SlowSSer should do....
1) Review his Total Thanks/Thanks Earned Totals
2) Locate one of "MY" threads
3) Click the "THANKS" button on one of "MY" threads
4) Return to his "Total Thanks/Thanks Earned" Page
5) One of the numbers should have changed

Instead of the raw number of thanks, I believe an "earned value ratio" should be posted under your name.

How about the number of thanks per post you make? That would result in a low ratio for the people that post a lot but don't get thanked, and a higher ratio for those whose posts are less frequent but more "valuable"?

I think my own ration would be very low, perhaps below 1. I imagine that Dino's would be >> 1.
