Is there a way to input HTML code into a post so that it shows up properly?
Specifically, I wanted to post the HTML code of a google map of my last ride into a RR post, but couldn't figure out if that was possible. Sorry if this isn't phrased properly, hopefully I've conveyed my question in a way that at least makes sense... Thanks in advance, James Last edited by quaestionis; 04-15-2008 at 07:53 AM. I don't think the mods allow <iframes> or <embed> as they are a security risk.... best bet is to create a link to the page and post that, or save the map as an image (use a screen capture program) and post the image.

George took away the HTML option a while ago (at the same time he removed the font size option). If you copy and paste HTML code, you need to to a "Preview Post" and remove all the tags before you submit your post!!!
BTW, that's why some of the older posts show the annoying HTML tags, because he turned off the option after we had already been using the features. ![]() You can post HTML links using the "Insert Link" button. You can also post links to photos using the "Insert Image" tags. They just have to valid URLs.

Your deleted html that was above referenced motionbased.com. MotionBased will be replaced by Garmin Connect on May 21st. Your post might be better with an actual picture than a link.

It's not a security risk; it's a personal preference of the site manager/owner. "Somebody" likes things plain and simple and decided everyone should like the same thing. Explains why "somebody" loves Macs so much!

HTML is different than the BBCODE tags that were disabled not too long ago. HTML has always disabled. Like kanga said, it poses a security risk if someone were to post a malicious piece of javascript and could lead to all sorts of funky stuff.

Is that process going to change under Garmin Connect? What will happen to all my old ride info and maps? I would think that no matter what happens, the link to the google map would survive the change, since the HTML code was technically created by google and not motionbased, right? Curious... |
