What: Ride Tapia Canyon - Beginners and Newbies are welcome as we'll leave no riders behind. Either BBQ at the park post ride of hit up Casa Lupitas and let them do the cooking (pleasure of the group).
Where: Castaic, CA - Meet at the Castaic Sports Complex - You can see it on the east side of the FWY just before you exit at Parker Road.
When: Saturday, November 24, 2007
Time: Meet at 9:00 a.m. - Ride at 9:30 a.m. - To give some travel time since I'm the only one that lives here...
Trails: Tapia Canyon
Trail Options: The regular route is about 12 miles minimum and we will throw in a decent sized extra credit section to make it as long as necessary to work up an appetite.
--------------------------------
This is a regular ride for the MTB industry folks (Marzocchi, 661, MBA & Answer/Manitou before they moved in Sept.) that work in the nearby Valencia Industrial Complex and the section I call The Two Mile Smile is one of the funnest sections of singletrack to be found anywhere.

There several different routes we can do and I have leaders and sweepers lined up, so we can tailor them to suit the group. This ride is beginner friendly and yet is fun for all. I posted this last month:

http://www.socaltrailriders.org/foru...ic-trails.html

I chose November 24 so it would as traffic friendly as it can be for those coming from a ways out. It's about an hour to 1.5 hours from Orange County depending where you're located and about 2 hours from Oceanside just to give you an idea for travel time.

Right now, I have the ride time posted for 9:30 a.m. so we can ride an easy pace and be back to the park in time to get our grub on for lunch. We could also do a Turkey Day leftover potluck. Pleasure of the group.

I will be out of town beginning this Sunday and returning on 11/21 , but I already have ride leaders and sweepers set up so we're good to go. I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have while away, but will find ways to check in a few times and answer any questions you all may have.
