It is actually a lot of fun. Used to do some night rides through Santiago Canyon on the road bike. Less city lights, so you really stand out in the dark.

Yup... 6pm night road ride! It can be done with very little time on actual streets. Take the trail all the way down to back bay in Newport and back. Also there are some other options when you get to back bay.
I'll be on my fixie so I can't go that fast!!
Hey!! My truck is not scary.. It's cute.

HUGH

I also have extra lights.

We have a group of displaced mountain bikers starting from the nature center (or whatever that is) in Costa Mesa at the corner of Irvine and University at 5:30 pm on 11/6. We'll probably run into you on our way up. Hopefully not literally.

If anyone wants to start in Costa Mesa they are welcome to join us. I ride a black and yellow road bike, I can't remember the manufacturer's name but it has that "CAAD" thing on there somewhere. We are not fast; on the bikes.

I know for sure that there are 3 of us, 2 girls and a guy. We'll probably have a couple more guys coming as well. Perhaps you could recommend a good code word?

We could meet at the intersection of Tustin Ranch Road and El Camino Real off the 5 Fry. You could park in the Mc Dogmeat's(Mc Donalds) parking lot. 6 pm...

You got it Mike. This used to be a weekly ride for us. Somehow the ride piddled out. We will have to get it started on a continual basis again.

Actually I don't blame you. I went on a short road ride last night on my MTB since nearly everything is closed.

Hey is this McDonald's in the same shopping center as Costco and Kmart? I'd like to make it if I can get out of work on time today.

39lb road bike?? Hells yeah I am. Of course it is a tandem!

I'm sure your Blaze light will be fine. You just might not see all the bumps you would hope to see.

See ya there!
