Default Tijeras Creek Tuesday All Girlz Newbie Ride

As promised (How to get your wife / GF to MTB?) this week's Tijeras Creek Tuesday will be an all-girlz ride that's newbie friendly!

Actually, it will be a two-part ride - the first part will be for newbies and a warmup for intermediates, and the second part will continue the intermediate adventure!

Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the parking lot of the Arbours office complex next to Family Nissan in RSM (Santa Margarita Pkwy & Avenida Empresa).

Here is a map:
http://tinyurl.com/27smkq (see map tips below)

Ride Plan:

Part 1: NEWBIE RIDE/INTERMEDIATE WARMUP
Cross RSM bridge, go down Arroyo Trabuco, Waterworks singletracks, back up the arroyo to the parking lot. This is about 13 EASY, mostly flat miles, beautiful canyon singletrack and doubletrack.

Part 2: INTERMEDIATE ADVENTURE CONTINUES
Catch the paved trail behind the parking lot, cross the "Million Dollar Bridge" to upper O'Neill Park, down Twisty Tire, up to the top of O'Neill, down Vista switchbacks (or fireroad), back up Twisty Tire (or paved road), our O'Neill and back to parking lot. Total miles? Well, I'm not sure... Who cares? It's an adventure!

Okay, guys, don't be mad that it's girls only! This might be just the thing that your GF or SO needs to catch the biking bug. I promise I'll take good care of them.

I know a lot of gals work and need a weekend ride, too - we can schedule a weekend ride in the future. PM me if you're interested...

This ride will be cross-posted on the Trail Angels board, so hopefully we'll have a lot of fun gals joining us for the ride.

These rides are always fun, don't miss it!

Map tips:
Google maps is giving me trouble - if you're having trouble too, you may have to zoom in from the US map page to the RSM area. Double-click on the blue marker several times to zoom in. Be sure to click on satellite or hybrid so you can see a photo of the parking area. For directions, click on the blue marker, then click on "get directions: To here" on the map.

Gene, darling... ALL GIRLZ!

John has his own advanced ride planned for that day... you'll have to check with him. It's his last ride day for the next 2 months (work starts Wednesday). Maybe you should tag along make sure he doesn't crash.

The Trail Angels have a regular Sunday morning ride that USED to be at Whiting... It's always newbie friendly. Haven't heard where this Sunday's ride will be... I'll post when I find out.

You sure you don't need a trail male along? If not, I could wear that little number I wore on the Halloween ride.

The Trail Angel Sunday ride on 11/4 will be the Arroyo Trabuco trail (same as this week's Tijeras Creek Tuesday ride). Guaranteed mellow ride - Trail Angel Anna is just getting back on her bike after breaking her arm in Mammoth this summer, and she's going to be taking it real easy.

So, here's the 411:

Trail Angel "Stop and Smell the Cactus" Ride
Sunday, 11/4, 9:00 a.m.
Meet at the Arbours parking lot (see map info above)

I'll set this up as a separate ride post.
