Elfin Forest, Sunday 11/4 at 2PM--CANCELED!!!

Gonna hit up Elfin Forest this Sunday. Going up "The Way Up" trail, up and down the "Equine Incline", out the service road to the "Lake Hodges Overlook" trail and back down "The Way Up". A bit less than 10 miles but over 2,000' of verticle gain, so bring your climbing legs.

Directions: Exit the I-15 at Valley Pkwy in Escondido, go south 1 block to Auto Parkway and turn right. Turn left on Howard Ave. (about 1/2 mile). Turn right on Harmony Grove Rd. Stay on Harmony Grove Rd. for about 3 miles to Elfin Forest on your left.

I think the Hodges Overlook trail is closed. That side of the mtn. took a pretty good hit.

You could still do two laps on Equine Incline in both directions instead.

Oh, so it's a misery loves company thing eh?

I'm supposed to go with a couple of buddies on my local ride. They've never done tunnels or some of the other stuff I've discovered recently. If they bail on me, I'll join you guys.

The downhill part is so worth it.

My son was sick throughout the night last night and I thought he'd be better today, but he's still feeling bad and I won't be able to make it.

I hate to cancel on my own ride, but I didn't count on this happening. Sorry guys.
