Default Riding Near Fresno

So it looks like I am headed to the Fresno area to visit my in-laws this weekend (they live in Fowler, 10 miles south of Fresno). Can y'all recommend some good spots to ride within 30 to 60 minutes of here?

Ideally I would get to ride a nice 15 to 20 mile XC loop.

I am craving a ride this weekend having been off the saddle for 3 days now because of the fires. Help a starving brutha out!

Thanks.

I know there is a cross country race up at Shaver lake. I have seen a website for it...shouldn't be to hard to find online.

007 is near bass lake is supposed to be fun downhill. There are trail reviews of it online.

Camp Nelson is about 1.5 hours from Porterville. There is a group of us riding there this weekend. Very high quality rides for sure.

there are some trails just above Visalia and around Exeter and Three Rivers, i believe on the way to the National Forest, like Rocky Hill and in that area. Haven't really rode in the area, just down in So Cal. Like Kiehacker said, there are several trails up above Shaver Lake

We're probably going to hit Millerton Lake if we have time. I'll let you know how it goes if we make it.

Just remembered...Fresno has a new mt bike park. I know its not done yet but I have the impression that parts of it are open.

Look pretty cool. I would be into hearing about it if you check it out.

I used to live in Fresno and ride a lot. I have lived in Utah and now near Downieville and some of my favorite trails are in the Fresno area. I recommend Squaw leap (near Auberry), Lake Hensley loop (a very fast and fun 20 min single track). Millerton, Sky harbor and lots near Bass lake like Goat mtn and 007. If you need details give me a call.

BTW If anyone comes up to do Downieville I have a sweet place to stay.
