I live about a mile northwest of the waterfall, and I just took the dog out for a quick walk with a headlamp on (for hiking--no good for riding). I couldn't see through the ash. It was pretty bad.

I can't imagine how bad it must be for those out east.

There's a limb that gets me every time. Good thing I have a helmet.

I used to use bar ends until I snagged one on a dwarf oak and swung the other end around right at my teeth. I don't use bar ends anymore.

OK, I RSVP'd maybe. That's a big commitment for me on a school night.

Ben mentioned SDYeti was talking about doing LPQ this Tuesday, so that's why it's being planned here. I don't know if I'll be able to make it or not. It's a bit further away and the ride time is probably longer than Hodges, which will put me out late for a school night. That's why I prefer Hodges, but I understand that people like to mix it up.

Yeah that's what I thought we were going to do. Then PacMan, someone who wasn't even there, corrected me .

I would do LPQ again on Thursday if you want to.

Personally, I vote LPQ due to my drive time.

It's in RB just south of Hodges.

Our area (Carmel Valley) is being evacuated, so I'm going to go ahead and set my rsvp to a maybe.

I think it's safe to say this ride is canceled.

Yeah, it helps being short...also not wearing sunglasses (I know the post was for a nite ride) on day rides cuz of the alternating light & shadows. This has got to be one of the most fun rides there is! I literally laugh out loud every time. So I hear it was maybe called Deer Canyon or Bush Ride originally. I think Labyrinth would suit it well! In any case, it seems to be Tunnel now, and kudos to the creators.
Question: How do you like to loop it? I like sort of an @-shape loop. I forget all the objects in the trees (horse, running shoe, feather, thong...), but if you consider three main drop-ins on the south side, go down the west one, around clockwise, up & out the east one, back down the middle chute, and up & out the start. I think working in that cool ridge ride just above would be good too, but it breaks up the flow.
