I might come out on Saturday to hang out, take pics, and deliver some beer. We'll see how things go.

Thanks Justin and Allison. I found the prices, they are on the waiver form, I hadn't bother to look at the waiver earlier. Since I thought it was just a waiver and a sign-up form. oh well.

Thumbs up

I'm planning on comming out and racing Super-D on Sat after work. Maybe DH on Sunday. Lacey has Winter formal on Saturady, so she'll probably miss the first one.

There's always sandbagging in all races, in all classes, in all event's.

But you know what?

It's all FUN!!

Okay, I think I might be able to get the Saturday off so I'm wondering do you have to pre-register for the XC race, is it too late? I looked on the home page and couldn't find any starting times. I'm probably just over looking it. I guess since I've never raced before and I'll be on an AM mtn bike I'll try the beginner class. I am considered a member of the over 200lb club so I was wondering if that might be a better class to race in.

I'd be riding the Beg. 35-44 I guess. I won't be 35 until March but the registration reads that race age is what you'd be as of Dec 31, 2008.

Ha that would mean a podium spt on my first race! j/k if that's the case then I'd move up I guess, but I think that the second lap might be the killer but even if I finish dead last I can still say that I entered and completed a race and that would be my main goal if I can still register. Competing would be out of the question since this is sort of spur of the moment and all.

You can register in the morning. Just get there early enough to register, get yourself prepared, and ride around a bit.

The course is well marked.

What would be a good target time to arrive. I was thinking like 7 or so, also I am somewhat familiar with the park but I'm not sure where the XC registration will be. By the 4x track perhaps? Thanks.

Basically any time you feel comfortable with. Gotta get there before 9 in order to register. But if you are going to show up in your gear and don't want to preride anything then you don't need to get there at 7. We will probably get there around 7:30 mebbe?

Sweet that'll be a sleep in day! Thanks for the help. I'll probably go in gear and just add or subtract according to weather.

A few of us always go out the Friday afternoon before sometimes they have the DH taped off by then and a good way to practice without too many other riders out?
Also for those shooting I might put up a list here Saturday (in order) if that would help otherwise look for me out there.

I get off at 2 on that friday so we'll see, if I am able to get the time off for this race (I will get one of the feb races off for sure) I am just going to go in there not expecting much. I probably do 8 mph under my normal riding circumstances and combined with really not having the opportunity to pre-ride I'll be happy to finish. The feb race though I'll be expecting a bit more. Thanks

FWiW, were you planning on riding the Chameleon?

No I was thinking the Heckler, the Chameleon probably actually weighs more than the Heckler since I have mostly DH parts on it. The Heckler is a total overkill I'm sure for this trail but I'm probably more comfortable on it.

I don't even know what a SuperD is. For some reason all I can think of is that old downhill race at Big Bear??? The kamikaze or something like that...it was basically a fire road and guys on "long travel" bikes shot down at stupid speeds. I doubt its that but that's what I think of everytime I read it.
