I'll be in Arizona the weekend of the 10th. If you schedule it for the 4th, I'm in. I'd hate to miss riding with you & Benny-boy up there.

I might be down for this. You might want to change your route description. I think you're referring to Middle Merrill as Upper Merrill. Upper Merrill is accessed from the top of Lowe Rd. near the tunnel.

Sounds like fun, but I am not sure I can handle to climbing, I am pretty out of shape. Can someone quantify or compare the climbing to other routes, say Thomas Mtn or San Juan Trail??

Or which one of the routes on geoladders is most similar? Don't forget the personal routes, some of them seem to be close... Thanks!

schleppp,

PM grandpa hes done both Thomas Mtn and Mt Lowe. I think he said Mt Lowe is more tech with more gnar exposure. CJ and SHinken like pain so they start at JPL but you can make this route shorter by starting at the gate of Mt Lowe Road and hook up with them at the top.

I'll throw down for the 4th, since it's in my hood and all. 9am at the JPL parking lot it is. I would suggest to ride up Brown and over to Mellard as I hate to climb the Chenney road up to the gate, but I know I'm gonna get my ass dropped by Mr. Jose either way.

I wish!!! Some of us are racing at the Mt. Sac Fat Tire Classic on 11/4. Like I keep saying, so many rides, too little time!!!

Dood, I don't think they'd let you back into the Angeles Forest again.

Ok, isn't the ride ride posted for the 10th?
Hopefully by then the forest will be open.

This sucks...This fire crap is overrated... This ride is canceled due to the forest's being closed due to EXTREME fire conditions.... I will set this one up again soon....
