Love Thomas, but I haven't rode it in a couple years.

Justin and I are planning on doing a few XC laps around Southridge before riding DH (assuming I can get a DH bike for the day).

Grandpa, are you guys riding up the trail or the Fire road? Either way I am in, can you post directions to the meeting place so that everyone knows where to hook up? Thanks, see ya Saturday...

Allison, thanks for the offer, I think I am rolling to Thomas Mtn though... Thanks again!

We will climb up the fire road. I plan on parking at the bottom of Thomas Mt. Road ( fs 6s13) about 1 mile past Lake Hemet on the right hand side of hwy 74. There's a clearing there where you can park. See you there. Tim

Hey guys, after looking at the Geoladders route, might I suggest we start at the beggining of the route they have, there is less road riding time, and I think it is an easier climb up the fire road... Just a suggestion though. Let me know what you all think.

The parking area is a bit further away from Hurkey than the closer fire road (near the market/Lake Hemet).

Yeah, the fire road is where I am going to park. It is about a mile past the market. There is room a short distance in from the hwy to park. A couple miles further up the road is a large clearing, parking area that Ramona trail comes out at, is that what you are talking about?

Just so everyone is on the same page: take hwy 74 east, turn right on Pyramid Peak rd. then left at Hot Patch Spring rd. follow that around to the bottom of the dirt rd. Park off to the side of the road... I will be in a red Xterra. See ya...

It's further down from that also.. I guess either way there is a bit of road riding. I think it's somewhere like 3-4 miles down the highway from the Ramona Trail parking. You ride through a few streets with homes and then ride up through a campground and up to Ramona Trail.

We normally park at the parking area listed on the Geoladders site, with an Adventure Pass (not sure if it's required or not).

Gotcha, different from how I've done it but it doesn't matter to me. I'll be there!

We've climbed the fire road from both sides. They are pretty similar as far as grade. I prefer climbing up from the far side (further away from Hurkey) because I think it's more scenic, but otherwise they are pretty much the same.

It's the descent that is fun anyway

I'm out if it's raining only because I don't have rain gear. But it looks like it's not going to rain much if any so I should be good to go.
