Default Tijeras Creek Tuesday ride 9:00 a.m.

It's time for another "Tijeras Creek Tuesday" ride on 10/9. Meet at 9:00 am at Canada Vista Park in RSM.

KeepsWhatHappens may not be joining us this week; therefore I have devised Plan A (no KHW, mellow ride) and Plan B (if he can make it and lead us on a more adventurous route). I will update this post the night before the ride re: his attendance.

UPDATE: KeepsWhatHappens WILL be riding! Goodbye mellow ride...

Here is a map:
Meeting Location

Every Tuesday morning we will be exploring different routes, starting points and hidden gems in the Tijeras Creek/Arroyo Trabuco/O'Neill area.

The Route(s):
Plan A: Down Tijeras Creek trail to Waterworks, up through the Jungle and Arroyo Trabuco, up to O'Neill Park, up Twisty Tire, over to Dove Canyon waterfall, and down Tijeras Creek trail to the skateboard park.

Plan B: Chiquita Ridge singletracks!

Here's the ride report from a couple of weeks ago:
http://www.socaltrailriders.org/foru...sdays-4-a.html

Hope to see a nice mix of STR crew and Trail Angels as usual... Don't worry, the Trail Angel call time is 8:45

Looking forward to getting to know the STR family and seeing some riders I met at the first Tijeras Creek newbie ride.

It's on J. I'll be there to join John. PM him if you decided to bring the SS. I don't know which single tracks he will take us on.

Good ride today, short but sweet. It was nice to meet you Peter and Scott. Look forward to riding with you guys again. John and Jason, always a pleasure.

Kristine, I hope you ladies had a good ride as well. Maybe next week, we can ride the same route.

We ended up doing a big ride, around 16-18 miles, not sure since I didn't bring my Garmin

We went down Tijeras, did Waterworks, came up Arroyo Trabuco to O'Neill, up Twisty Tire, up Robinson Ranch to Bell View, down to Dove Canyon waterfall and back down Tijeras Creek trail to Canada Vista Park. Whew!

We had three intermediate riders, a couple of beginner riders and one total newbie on platform pedals - but we had a blast. I don't THINK I scared the newbie away....

Wish I could have tried to hang with the guys and show off my new bike skiilz...

Next week John is out of town, so it should be a mellow newb/intermediate ride (depending on who shows up from the Trail Angels). I'll keep everyone posted.

Holy smokes, you turned that ride into a long one. About the time you were climbing Robinson Ranch we were eating at Rubios. mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Don't think your newbie would have liked some of the downhills John took us on.

See you next week, hope I can hang you slave driver

Gene - It was good to see you make a Tijeras Tuesday ride. Gotta love it when you burn the candle on both ends so you can squeeze more ride time in.

Jason - it was good to see you in our neck of the woods too and introduce you to some new trails. And Scott and Peter - always glad to see you Tijeras Tuesdays "regulars" again.

I just wish I could have shown you guys more trails...but there's always next time.

Happy Trails,

KeepsWhatHappens

It was nice to get to ride in the morning during the week. Not something I get to noramally do due to work schedule. New trails are aways fun.
