Default Chino Hills - Scully Ridge

Hello,

Does anyone know whether you can get on Scully Ridge trail anywhere from the Green River Golf Course side? My friends and I did Scully for the first time last weekend but started from the Soquel Canyon entrance (Bane Ridge to Scully). We were pressed for time and did not go to the end of Scully and turned back on Brush Canyon. On the way home while I was on the 91 fwy I noticed quite a few cars parked near the end of the bike trail. I was wondering if there was a way to get to Scully, or the start of any trail from there.

We plan to explore the east side of the park again this weekend and will take Scully to the end. Perhaps we can check it out then.

Those were roadies. We usually park there to ride the SART. I've never seen a mountain biker start from there, but there is an entrance to the park a little further down the SART.

yes you can....

i live off green river....
park down at the entrance to the golf course like all of the roadies who ride sart.
Saddle up... ride through the golf course parking lot... go past the club house and follow the lot to the gate.

Cross the tracks....

and the trail head is right in front of you. You can also rock the dirt road to the right to hit up lower aliso.

Talking with the rangers recently, the Brush Canyon entrance is not open. It was closed years ago because of a nesting bird.

You can park prior to the golf course then ride through the parking lot and down the hill over the train tracks.
You'll come to a fence. Hop over it, say hi to the horses, ride to the next fence, hop over that and then ride to the park entrance gate.
From there, take Lower Aliso to either Brush canyon and climb that, or go further up and take Skully road up to the ridge.
You can then follow Skully past Brush and keep climbing to the top of the mesa. It twists around up there, and then eventually drops down to the golf course.

There is another part of Brush Canyon that still exists. It drops from Scully down into the Lower Aliso valley and fire road of the park.

They never did explain that - how maybe one biker a day disturbed the nesting eagles, but the tractors that obliterated the Brush trail didn't....

The only birds that were being affected by that trail were the Yorba soccer moms.

Thanks for the info. We will be starting from Soquel Canyon side tomorrow and will check out the area at the bottom of Scully and Lower Aliso. I'll pack my Franko map.
