I've never started from the CH side. What's the parking situation? Is there a fee?

Free parking and plenty of it on the street. We'll start by climbing the fire road at the main park entrance.

Looking forward to riding with you again Willie. Is Jason back riding yet?

So honestly... how steep is the Chino side??? I've heard its super steep over there. What's it comparable to on the Brea side??

If i can climb Nortridge to Sycamore, Bovinian to Southridge and Telegraph to 4 corners [all at different times of course] will i be fine for this ride?? My biggest fear is being a burden on the group by being way to slow.

Dirtrider,

I will hang back with you if the going gets tough. No worries. I'm just trying to get my conditioning back, no race pace for me! Nice and easy will be the word of the day!

DirtRider, no worries. I don't think any of us are super fast except Jose. We'll just throw a stick in his spokes to keep him at our pace. Seriously, you will not be a burden. Heck, you might be waiting for me and I am the one hosting the ride!

It's not that steep. The first steep hill is right at the entrance where we start. I usually just spin the granny gear up this hill as a warm up.

The other steep hill is about 1.5 to 2 miles of climbing up Southridge to 4 corners. It's not a killer, it just takes sustained climbing. With the fire road climbing comes the payoff of singletrack descents!

I've never ridden the Brea side, which is part of why I wanted to put this ride together.

Thanks! Jason is riding again, but last week at Aliso his shoulder was hurting a lot so I don't think he's 100%. If he comes on Saturday he'll probably just do a shorter route.

I want to ride this ride this weekend but I have never ridden their before. How is the climb is it comprable to STT? If it is then no prob. I don't want to slow anyone down so if I go I may be hanging back with Apex and Dirtrider as well.

Never ridden STT. The climbing is nothing too bad. If you do Blackstar, this will be nothing. I just started riding in June.

Come and see for yourself!!

There are some god-awful climbs there, but I don’t think you have to worry about going slow. It doesn’t sound like anyone’s out to hammer. I’m sure everyone will want to take breaks and rest.

I’d say it’s comparable to STT, but more of a mix of steep climbs and longer slightly graded climbs.

But like Brewmaster said, there’s some good payoff there too! Just come, Dave!

The worst climb I have encountered in CHSP is up to the top of Southridge from the Chino Hills side. I don't plan on going that way tomorrow. There may be worse stuff on the Brea side that I just don't know about.

Alright people... i'm IN. I'll be there tomorrow AM!!! Put me in the slow group and i'll be fine... should i put Rum or Vodka in my camelback to dilute the water & ice taste??? guess i'd better just stick to water so i don't fall over in the parking lot b4 we ride.

I'm a maybe at 4 corners. We're sitting at the airport right now waiting for our flight to arrive. We land @ LAX around midnight so I don't know if I'm gonna be able to wake up tomorrow am. If you don't see us at 4 Corners by 9:15am then we didn't show.

No donuts for me, but I will have cold beers at my house after the ride for anyone interested. Bring you own lunch.
