Here it is folks. Join us in celebrating the 3rd Birthday of STR with a newbie ride in Chino Hills followed by(much later of course) food, fun and pool games at Danny K's.
The ride will be at Chino Hills and will be an easy route up Telegraph Rd to 4 corners. It is a 12 miles out and back. At that point we can decide to come down either the south ridge or back down the same way we rode in. We also plan on adding "A" group ride to this with extra credits and singletracks. Should be something for everyone. Link to Chino Hills: http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=286 With the help of others, I also would like to give a brief ride clinics to cover things like minimum equipment, braking, shifting, climb techniques and descending. Please be there at 8am to get some of these tips. Update: Maxine Irving, Pro downhiller will be there to give a DH clinic. The Birthday Celebration will be held at Danny K's. Lots of food and drink and is centrally located for most. Lots of pool tables so bring your cue sticks. 33 beers on tap and free pool for parties of 8 or more till 9pm! This promises to be a great time. Hope you all can make one or both the events. Here's the link to Danny K's: http://www.dannyks.com/index.htm Newbie Ride: Where? Hey that sounds like a lot of fun. Is anyone driving out from around the San Gabriels or L.A. area? Want to give me a ride/carpool? I can drive to meet you somewhere too if that works.
I really want to go on this ride! |

Ride time changed to accomodate those that are driving from distance and to allow more time for the ride clinics. Meet at 8am and ride by 9am. 1 hour for clinics should be plenty. We'll spend 5-10 minutes on different areas such as breaking, shifting under loads, climbing, descending, hydration, what to bring on rides, fixing your chain..., and anything else we think of or questions that may come up. There will be plenty of experience minds there. Time to pick their brain!
