Dirt is good

I took a quick ride today at lunch time up Telegraph canyon to 4 corners over to southridge and down lil canyon. Its nice and packed down!! not dusty at all. there is some serious single track on the fire road in places. looks like joggers or horses were on the trail way before it dried properly. still some mud and puddles in the shadows!! should make for a fun ride. wish i could join the group but my son's playoff football game is way more important!!! have fun!

I have an extra Camelbak I will bring if you want. I'll bring it for you full of water and ready to rock! I also have an extra pair of gloves you can borrow. Just say the word and I'll bring the stuff. A helmet is the most important thing. Everything else can be taken care of by the STR family if needed.

We have so many riders signed up... if they all come in from one end we'll tip the park on end. That's just too much weight on one end of the park... somehow we have to balance this out!
![]() Suggestions?

I can ride in from the Chino Hills side to shift some weight to the east. I think I weigh as much as Greg and Gene combined, so that offsets 2 riders!
![]() As for parking, the Carbon Canyon Regional Park has plenty, but you can also park across the street from Carbon Canyon Regional Park on Santa Fe Rd near Olinda Ranch Park. Instead of making a right into the Carbon Canyon Regional Park entrance, make a left on Santa Fe. There's plenty of free street parking around there.

Carbon Canyon Park has plenty of parking for a large group like this. If a group of riders this large begins parking in the neighborhood then i bet the neighbors will take notice and perhaps begin complaining. this could affect future rides and parking.
With a group this size and with the different skill levels you may want to consider the following: 1) everybody meets at the staging area... 2) gets their clinics on!! 3) Group A [more experienced riders: intermediate on up] takes Northridge to 4 corners 4) Group B [biginners to those who don't like long sustained steep climbs] takes Telegraph Canyon up to 4 corners 5) From 4 Corners you can then have Group A go explore the Chino side or take Bovinian to South Ridge back down to Telegraph Canyon and then to the Park 6) Group B takes Telegraph canyon back down to the park This type of plan would allow for both groups to start around the same time but this will relieve pressure on Telegraph canyon while giving your riders different choices to get to 4 corners depending on their endurance level. Either way you will all end up at 4 corners probably around the same time. Just some thoughts.... |

![]() oh you may want to mention to the newer people (I don't like that word "newbie") to bring tubes or a patch kit. The last time we were out their with Brewmaster's ride I think we had total of 6 or 7 flats from thorns. Quote:
