Those numbers don't tell me anything about you. You just grabbed that information from their website. Email me with your actual name and a phone number of your supervisor/superior if you want the ban lifted. Till then I'm assuming you're a troll and we all know who that is . . .

Whoa, a lot happened over night. I live right next to the park so I will check with the rangers today to see what this is about. I think we all know it is BS. CHSP has been closed since Saturday but it will probably re-open today.

What's hilarious is that the rangers at Carbon Canyon Regional Park (a COUNTY park) where we will meet have no jurisdiction in Chino Hills State Park (by name, duh, it is a STATE park) where we will be doing most of our riding. Nice try MTBRanger, but I call BS. The rangers don't forecast park closures, especially in parks that are not in their area of responsibility.

I realize I wasn't riding in Chino Hills, but we rode Southridge like a few hours after the rain stopped on Saturday (to my limited knowledge it hasn't rained since) and while I know the soil and terrain might be slightly different, and recent fires, etc etc.. um, it didn't rain enough to cause any significant week long delays in riding trails.

To be honest, the rain just packed down some of the dust, but barely even created puddles...

Hope you guys don't have any problems on Saturday. If it turns out not to be true I wonder if the park cares that someone is going around pretending to be a ranger? Weird...

I would think that they would take this pretty seriously.

BTW, what recent fires in CHSP? I've ridden most of the park in the last few months and I haven't seen any burned areas, especially along the Telegraph Canyon fire road where we will be riding this weekend. Add that to the pile of BS.

Naw, just gonna have Aspen under my feet. But I can bring the new frame so you can have a moment with it!

What's with this intrigue with the Ranger? I guess I would have just called the numbers like he suggested to confirm the parks actions for this weekend, if then the parks refuted Rangers comments, bye bye turkey.

Just got off the phone with Shannon at State Parks office and she verified with local rangers that the trails at Chino Hills State Park are clear and open. Assuming no more rains, she said they will be open for Saturday's ride.

And off in some long forgotten trailer park, MTBRanger could be heard ranting:

"Foiled again! And I would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

Thanks for the follow-up, Pato. And Shecky, too!

Spoke with Corrine from Carbon Canyon. She said that CHSP speaks for any of the back country trails, and that Carbon Canyon itself was open. I asked about the park proper and she said that aside from a little dampness on the turf (mowed grass) here and there, there were no issues from the rain.
She sounded like she had received more calls than normal today....

George,

This guy is a total moron. I have dealt with BLM and other National Park Rangers for years shooting images for the magazines. I know all about the rights and permits and blah blah blah. ALL State Officers are FIRST required to identify themselves in a situation like this. Its the law. So immediately when he said he would lose his job for identifying himself he has proven he isnt who he says he is. Why dont people get a life?

I also called CHSP and the park is open and will remain open unless we get a huge amount of rain which is not forecasted. The ride is on!
