Default Bootleg Canyon - 11/10-11

Come join us for a weekend of trail and DH riding at Bootleg Canyon in Boulder Cty, NV.

I have reserved the shuttle truck for both days through All Mountain Cyclery. The Shuttle fee will be $15.00 per person/per day. This is based on 15+ people (which we now have). Meet in the parking lot ready to load by 9am.

Camping is available in the parking lot (free). There are bathrooms and showers.

As far as hotels, there are many in town. We will be staying here:

Anybody else going to camp it? You can camp at the trailhead for free, and there's free showers.

I camped there in December last year, it was fine. It was a little windy, but you'd be fine with a desent sleeping bag.

There's some cheapie hotels right in Boulder City too but no gaming.

I'm not sure how legit the camping is at Bootleg. I think it's one of those "it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission" deals.

That would be interesting. Depending on how I feel after a day of riding, I may be up for some night time DH...as long as we ride safely and don't take any risks.
I'll be pretty well lit....with lights, that is (although we could consider a few beer checks).

BTW, if you're using a NiteRider HID on your full-faced DH helmet, get one of the NiteRider MX helmet mounts. They fit the helmets a lot better than the standard helmet mount that comes with the lights. http://www.niterideroffroad.com/productshelmet.shtml

I'm bringing my full face just in case, but I'll be riding my trail bike... therefore, I probaly won't be riding the DH trails during the day or night .

C'mon, the "XC" trails will be funner[safer] at night anyways .

Might be camping unless someone wants to spilt the cost of an economy room at the Hacienda, about 40 bucks a piece.

When are most people leaving/arriving? I would be interested in caravaning, if not car pooling.
