Default Jawbone Canyon Moto Weekend 10/5 - 10/7

It's that time of year again. Jawbone Canyon OHV is a hillclimbers paradise. It's also conveniently located a few miles from Dovesprings OHV which is another really fun place to ride. All skill levels will find what their looking for out here. If that's not incentive enough, then go for the tri-tip steak sandwich's at the Jawbone Canyon General Store I'll post direction info and some pictures below. I'll be heading out friday after work or early sat morning. Jawbone canyon is about 25 miles past mohave city. It's about a three hour drive from OC. I might have room for 1 in my truck. We'll see as the weekend aproaches.

I need to clear something from my calendar but I think I can make this. Are we sleeping in pick up beds or does someone have a trailer?

I usually take my two oldest boys (10 and 6) out to Ocotillo Wells or El Mirage. A buddy suggested Dove Springs. Where is a good place to camp for kids? Sand is bad for the little wheels and a flat area would be good.

Also take the 405 to the 5? Makes sense. Map quest says take the 5 all the way.

Thanks!

DeeZee, there are nice hardpack areas to setup camp to the right of the access road on your way in. If you drop down into the wash then you've gone too far. There's alot of fun terrain right there as well for the kids. If you venture out on unmarked trails or roads be careful, there are mine shafts out there. I haven't came across any near there that weren't fenced in, but I know that there are some that aren't. It's a great area I think you'll enjoy it.

Those pics look like they are from the 80's!

I would love to go ride but I have to change 5th and 4th, the locking 3rd, and the respective shift forks in my YZF tranny. I hate splitting the cases. Already once this year when replacing the rod and bearing.
