Lovin' the bike!

Hope to cross paths with you someday. Newbie rides are a very good way to meet everyone!

Have fun in Big Bear! Sorry, I will be in Mammoth this weekend!

Sweet bike.
That fork looks like more than 6" or travel. Big Bear has certain rules about no downhill bikes. Must be 35 lbs or under, have 3 chain rings up front, 6" of travel on the front fork or less. tires cannot be larger than 2.5"
Some words for the wise....
When you take your bike up to the lift, drop your crowns so the travel only looks 6". hehehe. Works like a charm.
I would also recommend brining a second trail bike that fully complies with their rules. They seem enforce the rules more strictly in the morning. As the afternoon goes on, they allow more slack about which bikes they will allow on the chair. A
Also, don't look like a downhiller. Look like an innocent cross country rider THAT JUST HAPPENS to be riding a downhill bike. That means don't show up in full body armor and full face with a downhill jersey.

Also, as of Thursday, you'll need to come up via Hwy 38. The 18 is still closed from the Butler Peak Fire. Caltrans is having a hard time with falling debris and with the looming storm, I don't think they'll be in any hurry to get it reopened.

As a side note - bring some warm gear. Temps are supposed to be a bit on the chilly side. Highs in the 50's Lows in the 20's.

Have a good ride.

And if we really do get some rain down here, it means snow up there. So be prepared
