Well, there goes my whole effing weekend. I won't be able to make the ride
![]() ![]() I was wiping down the bike getting ready for tomorrow and I saw this huge crack that goes almost all the way around the weld: ![]() I am so pissed I could just scream. I know I'm far from the lightest guy, but I don't take drops--hell, I walk Widowmaker--so I don't understand why this happened. Once again, my Noble ride is somehow ruined. Excuse me for repeating myself here, but I am so frustrated I can't stand it. Unless someone has a bike I can borrow, I'm out. Sladnas said I should drive to the top with my Haro and ride BLT and Middle Earth then descend with everyone. I might do that. I don't know. I'm so out of sorts with aggravation right now I can hardly see straight.

So sorry about your bike. I say meet us on the Haro!!! Wish we had a bike to loan, but no extras.

You probably aren't interested in humor right now, but...
Look, d00d, if you really wanted to go to the newbie ride you could've just said something! Geez... Bright out the Haro and descend, mang.. the ride will make you feel a little better. Sorry to see your frame, dude. That sucks!! Better to find it now than have it cause a problem tomorrow, though. You can always ride the Socom ? |

Calling all STR dudes and dudettes
Our friend, PacMan is in need of a loaner bike (full suspension ) for the ride tomorrow. If you have one, it would be totally awesome. I can tell you from first hand experience, that nothing will happen to it (other than possible manufacturer defects like the Yeti), because PacMan does not ride hard at all. ![]() Anyway, let us put our heads together and make this work. Pac--thought of another last ditch option I'm willing to sacrifice for ya bud--I'll ride Ben's SS and you can ride the Trance. Might be a touch small (17.5), but it could work... If it makes you feel better, my ankle is swollen and getting stiff as a board from that gnarly "didn't quite make it" move I pulled earlier today. |

The only option that I can think of so far would be to leave my car at the top (which I wasn't going to do this time) with my Haro inside. Climb to the top on my Trek HT, loop BLT/Middle Earth on the HT, then take a detour to my car and grab my Haro for the DH. It's a thought.

![]() I only walk Widowmaker and the last half of Stairway. I ride everything else. I'll be there either way. See you all in the AM and thanks for the condolences.

Oh man...I feel your pain. So sorry about this...Wish we could lend you something, but unless you want to do Noble on a 15" single speed with a 36-18, there's not much I can do. Bummer I'm not trying to sound like an a$$ but has this happened to anyone else?! I'm scared! Warranty? Quote:

PacMan,
I am riding the 6.6 tomorrow so that means that my Blur is available if you want it?? No worries. Just bring your pedals (Time Atacs are on it now) and we'll get ya hooked up. I'll throw it in the truck just in case... ![]() Kevin

OK. I've finally made up my very OCD/Anal mind. I'm going to borrow GP_Pilot's Superlight for the climb and leave my car at the top with my Haro inside for the descent. I can't decide if I will loop BLT/Middle Earth on the Superlight or the Haro. I guess that will depend on whether or not everyone minds going back to my car right before the DH.
Either way--A huge THANK YOU to everyone for the ideas, offers and condolences. I can't imagine not riding with all you fine people tomorrow, broken bike or not. It's stuff like this that sets STR apart from the rest. YOU GUYS ROCK. ![]() ![]() ![]()
