Default Elfin Forest, Friday 9/21 at 3PM

A few of us are riding Elfin Forest Friday afternoon at 3PM. None of us have ridden here before, so there will be a certain degree of exploring. I am going to print out several maps/loop suggestions to follow, so it should be fun. Distance will be short but climbing will be plentiful.

For trail description and pics: http://www.mountainbikebill.com/ElfinForest.htm

nappyt [09-18-2007 09:46 AM] - FYI: 50% chance of precipitation

Ya, but I've learned to just plan rides and wait to cancel until I'm actually getting rained on. Predicting SoCal rain is usually a guessing game.

Love Elfin, but gotta work. I believe the beginning of The Way Up trail is under construction for water-works. The Botany trail should lead you into TWU.
Just grab a map, tuck your sac back, and prepare to climb!

You act like I haven't walked that far before. Where is the damn middle finger emoticon? Never doubt a man with a 34-T rear cog...

We never said you couldn't pedal the hill because it was too steep. We were saying you couldn't pedal the hill because it's hard to do when you cancel out on the ride.

Its less than 20mi from my house.

Its been a trail I have been pushing for us to ride since our Hodges out-n-back used to go to the dam before the Olivenhain Project started.

In other words I have wanted to do this ride for years. It was just to far before and to short of a ride to justify a solo.

Oh, you mean the DAM. This from a college graduate.

I hope you don't mark points off your students' papers for bad spelling. I sure hope you don't teach English.

Hey, give me a brake its early. I'm only on my first pot of coffee. Listening in on a conference call and trying to get some code written. All while posting...

Anyways I was reading MTBBill's write up and he made the same mistake I did twice. (not busting on you Bill just making a point.) So byte me. (That was intentional...)

Don't be jealous you could have $60k worth of student loans too if you were willing to give up a couple nights of riding and years of your life.

I was just talking about my loans. With my wifes its about 2x that also. But with the jump in our income from having the education, it was worth it.

That figure is just my wife...but I guess that's how marriage works--it's "mine" now too
