Actually Ethan, it's an ActionTech shock (has a little over 2") in the head tube... something that Cannondale coppied. ActionTech (Russ Robinson)tried to sue but finally just gave up... cost too much.

Dood...time to grab a cup of joe, Red Bull, or whatever you prefer and check those post dates: commplex posted that on 9-15-2007!

Whiting is most definitely closed and likely will be for several months

Hi Guys -

Thanks to all who led me on my first Aliso ride. I must say, it was a heck of a lot of fun coming down Meadows and running into the "herd" of hikers coming up, a little odd as well. All in all I think it was a great ride for a first time. After I get back from Hawaii I'm definately going to have to get back down there and ride Rock-It. Meadows and Lynx were a blast and it was great to ride with a good group. Hopefully Thai's hand feels better and the cactus has gotten its fill of people.

I need to go back and find out what I missed. Everyone kept talking about Rock-It and Mathis and after riding Lynx, I need to go see what they're talking about.

Thanks for dragging my sorry butt around. Looking forward to exploring more.

Hey Greg thanks for thinking of the Cactus, Im sure its doing well. My hand has a few spines broken off in it, and was throbbing a bit saturday...not as much as my quads though, 2 times up Cholla is more then I was ready for after 2 weeks off from the fires, and not even close to being in shape. I like to thank the two riders that stopped for me as well, I'm not sure if they are part of this board but that was very cool of them, Jeff I think his name was, and the gal I never got her name, but a great tribute to how thoughtful the Mt. Bikers in AW are!!!!

Ouch! Healing vibes for the hand. The nice lady that stopped for you also stopped and told us you had fallen when she got to the bottom. She said you had a "stunned" look on your face. Glad to know there won't be any permanent damage. Cholla did a number on me as well. The first time up was fine - the second, not so good on the legs. I can still feel it when I walk up stairs.

I was a bit stunned, because I was going pretty well, but I think fatigue played a factor in the decent, and Im kinda shaky going Downhill anyhow. the last time I had an encounter with the "locals" of AW I was alone and had to pull spines all on my own. so having two people treat me like I was there child made me feel both good and odd at the same time. They were very concerned, but honestly in my ranking of crashes Ive had both mountain biking and snowboarding that was like a 3(an extra point for the cactus) out of 10. I know I was going at a faster rate then I should have but I don't honestly remember going that fast, and everything happened so quickly..
