Saturday Morning Wood Canyon Coffee Social/Ride

The weather was perfect this morning... and although starting a ride by riding up cholla on a single speed is hard on the knees, (right Gene!) we had a really good ride. Chris (Slayer) had never ridden at Aliso Woods.... so it was a lot of fun showing him the park. We managed to go all the way over to disneyland and out to the point overlooking Charlie Brown's. The view of the ocean was incredible today. Ran into several of the Saddleback Church Group (Roger, John & Bob) and another Warrior (Reed)... everybody was enjoying the weather and riding. After blowing down Meadows, we picked up Pat (Cpatcrash) and Darin (Crash Max). Ran into Steve pulling trailer duty with his kid .... Finally got back to the cars after about 2 1/2 hours.... perfect!

After Maxwell and I split up I headed up Rocket. I was coming down a section and I heard a guy wooping it up as if he was having fun and then all of a sudden he yelled and I heard a big CRASH. It was at the waterfall section that turns right at the bottom then snakes through the rocks and then uphill. I headed up and he was down in a heap and I think his wrist or hand was broken. There were 3 or 4 guys with him to help him down. He is going to have a bad night!

He'd been at my house the night before Neil gave him directions to the park to meet Nam & I, only problem was we didn't make it...

He rode by himself and had a blast, you'll see him around, he rides mostly with the Adrenaline boys.

Someday I'll get up that early and ride with Duan and his crew, sounds like a fun ride with good people

andy we were too busy riding i was working hard keeping up w/ Gene and Gregg!! but to be honest i ran out of battery juice! i wanted to record Gary and Thai going down meadows but ran out of battery...next time

can you wait till I'm a bit faster down that thing, I think I'm the slowest person alive down Meadows, as I can't really drop my seat I fear for my future kids...that little drop off towards the middle/end of Meadows already gave my boys a beating Saturday.

Ask and ye shall receive . Great great ride this morning. Jay (allroy), Jason (springrubber), Gary (complex), Chris (pushnpedal), Paulo, Donnie (devoid169) showed up bright and early. It was a bit chilly this morning but once we started climbing Cholla it got warm real quick! We did our normal loop; going up Cholla, to TOTW and down Meadows and rode back casually towards Cholla again. We were all feeling good this morning so we decided to climb Cholla again to go down Lynx. Big props to all the riders that went again up Cholla...it certainly was a first for me . Anyway, enjoy the photos.

I hope to be on my bike by saturday. Some say fat chance. If I em I'll see @ Aliso. I'll be riding the flat section only for conditioning, I'll ride it more than once. Letting you know incase anyone wants to join me.

i wonder how much rain would have to fall before they close the park down? I want to ride tomorrow but the "weather" people are saying there's a slight chance for rain.

news peeple said we should be getting liek 0.1" of rain overnight... not much to do damage, maybe just pack the dirt down a bit
