Hey JCampbell,

How long is this ride? I haven't charged my lights all summer so I'm a little sketched about taking them down motorway at night.

I guess I could always just go to 4 corners.

Thanks

Carl

That's what I was thinking. Maybe I'll bring a commuter light just in case.

Besides, I want to climb Maple on the single and I maybe out of gas by then too.

You gonna do this ride Jose?

The total ride is 16 miles or so, once you get to 4 corners its pretty easy except for a couple of hills, one thats prety steap but not that long. A couple people might turn around at 4 corners if they are tired and we cant convince them otherwise.

Can we park there at night? I thought it was forbidden and you need an Adventure pass too right? I was gonna park down the street from the gate but if we can park there, I'm see you guys there.

The last few times Steve, Andrew and Matt rode there we parked at the top. I have an adventure pass, but yes it is a bust. I am taking my chances, well actually, maybe I'll just park down the street. If anyone is showing up that doesn't know where to park, just drive up till you see us and ask.

I'm in the same boat (no adventure pass) so I'll be looking for a place to park too.

Hey Anne and Andy,

Really good ride tonight. Glad you guys came out tonight to show me the way!

Some nice orange colors at sunset and the lights from OC and 909 were pretty clear and cool looking.

But dang, that loose climbing on the main divide really sucks balls....hmmm, so when we gonna try this ride again?

Everyone who signed up and showed... Sorry. We had some serious problems on this ride. First a car ran a little low on gas without a warning light. Then we showed up a little late... just after 6:43pm. Saw everyone's car... hauled ass to get ready and just as we were leaving Steve rolls up. We wait for him and see some other guys come down. I ask them and they say your 15 minutes out. I figure if we hammer we can catch you before the top. Then Mark Wilson showed up and spots me and we chat, finally Steve is ready and I say I gotta go. We take off... Take a mini break at the end of pavement... a mile from the top... Big B shatters his new DT Swiss rear hub. Couldn't even peddle on the flats. At that point I was hangin back with B thinking the whole time it was his tune on his shifter. Steve and Jason pulled away a little so we end up getting seperated. We decide, there is no way he can make it to the top with the hub skipping as bad as it was. After a while of waiting for Steve and Jason to come back down, we said screw it. We flew down and jumped in the car and hauled ass back up. We ended up seeing Steve and Jason on their way back down from 4 corners. They say the just missed everyone else and could see you traversing along the main divide. So we head back down in the car and head for the bar.

Sorry things didn't work out. We would have caught you if it weren't for the DT Swiss Cheese hub.

What a night.

I think we vowed for a repeat nest week over our beer at the swinging door.

Try going the other direction, from the Motorway to 4 corners.

No doubt Gene. That's the Traverse route right? Do hiking boots come with SPD? Because that's what I would need.

JCampbell, tough night for you guys! We saw some HIDs when we started the Main Divide. I'm assuming that was Steve and Jason. Oh well, next time man, Thanks for setting up the ride man. Do it again and I'll be there.

btw, drinking at the Swinging Door, nice.

Ya that was the way we went on the Traverse. It was loose then, I could only imagine what it's like now. Made climbing that last steep loose section before 4 corners tough to climb even in granny. I had to walk part of it.
