Default Sept 8th NOOB ride at Wood Canyon

We usually do a good ride with our friends that are relatively new to the mtn bike scene so they're not trail burners. Pace will be slow so if you want a work out then we'll meet you on your 2nd loop

Come join us for a fun ride.
When: 7AM (hopefully weather will be a lot cooler) be done around 10-10:30

Where: Meet at Canyon Vista Park aka MILF park.

I'm interested if I can move some things around. Do you have a link on geoladders or directions to the place because I've never been there before. Thanks in advance!

foofighter Julia and I will be riding Aliso Sat morning.

I've ridden out to the park and around the houses trying to find the entrance above Cholla. Is there such an entrance?

We will park in the main parking lot and hopefully catch up with you. We don't stop till we get to Cholla. We take a break and then Julia climbs Cholla on her bike and I hike my bike up. Not no more! I'll be riding it up (I hope). Actually this will be a test let's see how I do. Last night I rode up a hill that had given me trouble for months. Riding under 107 degree weather did something. If I ride up Cholla on Sat - I've met goal #4. Then I move on to goal #5.

yup hollyleaf street takes you to the top of cholla if you want to do the street climb. But you should do the cholla climb and show some of the guys that are riding how it's done and how you will bring it to them

I'm telling you it's all about setting goals for yourself (littles ones at first) and when you meet them you feel really good about it!

FooFighter - What route do you have in mind for this ride?

Ezzy - if you park at Canyon View park, then climbing up the street is honestly almost as strenuous as climbing Cholla, but Cholla is more fun and rewarding. Cholla has a series of short, steep-ish sections, with several brief flat spots in between. The trick on your first time up is to use those flats as needed to pedal slowly & catch your breath for the next section. Give it a shot!

I was thinking the route we normally take: up cholla along the ridgeline to Top of the World then down Meadows and ride coyote back? the last section i'm not to sure about as there is a lot of traffic on coyote going both direction on the weekends so we may just ride the fireroad back. We'll let the group decide. Or we can have the more experience riders split and do that portion and the rest we'll ride the fireroad.
