I think an urban ride in the LBC for Holloween seems more fitting. Besides that they're used to half naked freaks out at night.

If it's at the Fully Loop would it be in bad taste to wear hospital garb with fake casts?

It is still quite a bit of time before Halloween so I won't be posting the ride for a little while yet-but keep it in mind!

With regard to the Halloween Ride- my hope is that we discuss it a bit more. I believe in order and preparation. We (i.e ALL OF US) have yet to decide on the day.... the location....... paved vs. dirt..... how difficult the ride will be..... will it be a BBQ.... what location can handle a large group of people? Prizes and donated items take time.... (I would like to donate an Iron Horse Sunday- that alone may take 1,000 annoying emails to IH headquarters).
The reason for this thread was to discuss whether a Halloween Ride was a good idea! Judging from your posts, PM's as well as face to face discussions- it is a good idea! The reason the thread was started in August was to ensure the event would be.... one for the record books! A few weeks..... I am quite confident the plans will be made final in a few weeks! |

I have heard talk of "why the 949?" Why not closer to the 909? Well here is my take on it. I live in the 714. I was hoping to get a ride together for Halloween. I spoke with Genus (kinda funny,) JasonMason and Dino we all want this Halloween thing to roll big. We just want to get everyone together and have fun. This was my suggestion.
I suggested one of my traditional routes in Aliso. This would be from the church in Aliso to Coyote to Cholla to the top of Lynx. Everyone brings a bit of food to share with others at the rock. We enjoy the company of good friends. If you are on the injured list, you can still join the fun by driving up to the top of Cholla and walking over. Everyone can enjoy the fun. After the festivities we roll down Lynx and back to the cars. generally we hit Wahoo's for some after ride fun. I was thinking Saturday the 27th around 3pm. What you think?

What do I think? I think Aliso is a great place to host a ride!
As I said in my earlier post, I believe (WE) need input from fellow members. That includes NEWBS and LURKERS!!! So far, we are not getting much feedback! I wish there was a way to do a multi-question type poll. 1) Paved vs. road 2) Morning vs. afternoon vs. evening ride (nah) 3) Aliso? Fully Loop? Beach Ride? 4) Eat on the trail? parking lot? BBQ? Wahoo's? Not trying to complicate things.... just looking for some direction. One thing is certain: With Andy on board, the event is sure to be a success!

With your good looks, I can see it happening!
![]() What I am less sure about is how safe it will be riding your bike... considering you will have to roll up your right pant leg.... four, maybe five times just to clear your shoe! ![]()
