Ugh, that sucked. I think I will replaced the CrossStep it was a HollowPin for a little more strength. Since the bike is new I will see if BW will do it for free.

I also smashed my rear derailleur into a tree down in Tunnels. It was ghost shifting the rest of the ride until my chain broke. After I removed a couple links and put the PowerLink on it stopped. I'll see how things go Monday at Daley.
Glad to see you made it out. Hope it didn't take you long.

Hey Scott--it was nice riding with you again.

Jeremy and I rode ahead to some shade when we heard Tom say he broke his chain--assuming he would be able to fix it.

When we decided something must be wrong, we rode back and Tom explained what the problem was and said you had to split. Sorry we missed you there at the end.

You gonna hit the Daley Double with us next Sunday??

Thanks for taking me along for the ride again. I had a great time and you guys are a good group to ride with.

When Tom said he was SOL, I decided to head back b/c my wife thought I would be home by 6:00. I though for sure I would be caught before I reached the parking lot. Since I was already late I decided to head home.

I'm going to try riding Daley tomorrow and see how I do. If I haven't died of heatstroke, I will probably try and tag along next Sunday. I've never ridden Daley, so I have no idea what to expect.

Ya, when Jeremy and I caught Tom, we rode along with him for the most part.

Daley is about the same as yesterday's ride, just with double the climbing. I sure wish I could join you guys. The pace should be pretty mellow, so I'm sure you'll have a good time. Bring your climbing legs.

Breathing so hard you can't help but drool everywhere, stopping to rest when you see stars, and cursing your legs for giving up before your mind does. All the things that make you smile afterwards. Cheers!

so true. In the middle of the ride I always wonder what the hell I was thinking, but when it's over I feel great (despite the heat exhaustion, etc.). Thanks to all for pushing me to keep going.

What with your chain issues and all, I forgot to ask you: what happened to the whole "keeping me in your sights" thing?? I don't remember seeing you for most of the ride, and I was SS'ing. I recall cleaning everything and not having to walk anything. I remember passing you on the climb out of Tunnels. I remember being WAY faster down Cobbles. I remember ripping through Bridges and having to wait fo you to catch up.

I don't think we really saw each other until your chain broke and we came back to ride back with you while you walked. Hmm. Interesting
