Hey, what about us NOT so young grasshoppers?? Right now, I look at DFL as an almost-attainable goal

But I had so much fun (not to mention support and encouragement) on the last one, that I think I'm going to ignore the advice of my doctor (and wife!) and join this one too.

Hope to meet some more of you this time.

Mitch

See you on the ride...

The extra credit he is referring too is around Chiquita Ridge area Brian I dont think you have been that way. The previous times you and I have done Tijeras we didnt go that route but some did last weekend for a little extra fun.

I can lead a group through here again if there's interest. That group would probably either have to leave a bit earlier or ride faster and re-group less often so we could meet up with the regular group at Waterworks.

Last time we missed the main group by 10 minutes and we still cut out 2 miles of singletrack that would have been nice to ride.

Thanks Chris, I'll lead or sweep, I'll be where ever I'm needed. I have lots of opportunity to hammer any other time.

Ya John, I agree that you should take off a little sooner. Kinda funny that a bunch of newbs were waiting on an "A" group on the last ride.

BTW John, I hear you have a WS name for me already approved. PM me or you can post it .

Where are we all meeting? Considering its going to be Labor day... are we still going to meet in the same lot as last time or at the post office down the street?

C'mon back again Jose - I can show you the two miles of sweet ridegline singletrack that we skipped last time.

Plus there are two other pretty technical drops that we have options to do along the way if people are up for them.

Meeting in the park... just like last time. since we're getting there so early the day parking won't be parked up until much later.

See you there...

As of Wed. It was not removed. we can go under it, but being careful of the PO. I will call them on Sat afternoon. Also Boats, I may just take you up on that offer to hammer one out and go with the "A" Group this time. Afterwards when we re-group, I can take my rightful place in the rear...,err back and bring them in.

Rode there today. It's still on the trail which means it'll still be there on Monday since no doubt the ranger's crew is country-clubbin' it this weekend.

Honestly, it's no biggie and you can easily walk/crouch under it. In fact I think it would be better to leave it there and dig out the trail a foot or 1.5 feet under it so you could ride under it. That would be kind of cool.

Wish I could make it - the first one was a blast! For anyone that can't make Monday's ride, I'll be posting a Tijeras Creek ride for Tuesday morning.

Default IMPORTANT -- RSM Parkway Will be Closed Monday am!

On my way through Rancho today they had those electronic message signs up warning that Santa Margarita Parkway will be closed Labor Day in the am for a 5k run scheduled for 7:00am-11:00am.

So, you may want to look into alternate routes and/or leave a little earlier. One alternate is: Up El toro to Cooks Corner, turn right onto Live Oak Canyon and follow it around to the park entrance.

I am not sure if it will be a full closure or not, but there will surely be delays/detours.

Let's all not be late and start the ride on time!! It's already going to be hotter than sh*t at 8:30am. If it wasn't so close to the start date I'd suggest moving the time earlier.
