Hills: Yes
Rockgardens: A few (by a few I mean a lot)

How does it compare to say, a Lake Hodges?

Hodges sort of has singletrack, sort of has hills and has a few rocks here and there. Sounds like the pace will be pretty slow for the main group, so you could also air down the shock and take 'er easy...

Edit: I'm not sayin there's gonna be more than one group...

It's rocky, but nothing too bad. If you can handle La Costa Sunday, you can do this. My friend Sean is riding and he is ridiculously slow.
