Default San Diego Ride: LPQ 3PM

I'm riding LPQ Friday around ~3 PM. I park at the baseball fields anyone looking for a slow ride is welcome.

UPDATE: I will be at the trail head by 3 PM. Look for a Blue Nissan Xterra with a hitch style rack and STR written on the dirty rear window. Since we are waiting for PacMan we won't ride out until 3:20-3:30.

This'll be sweet. Plus, now I know I don't have to bother loading up the SS tonight

I wonder if we'll have time to take a side trip to Hooterville

google maps link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...0556&z=15&om=1

You'll want to drive towards the back, which is where the trail starts.

well, switched my rsvp to 'maybe.' I woke up to a swollen right knee this morning (happens occasionally to me), so I gotta see whether a morning walk and some ibuprofen will nurse it...

Thanks for the link, that is where I thought it would start. Someone had mentioned that rides start from the baseball fields and I don't ever remember seeing baseball fields. I guess that just wasn't what I was looking for.

See you out there.

Not sure who has been around LPQ and who hasn't but here are some of the trails I have mapped. This doesn't include all the trails or the Del Mar Mesa side. I would guess this is about 40% of the open trials. MTB Bill has most of the trails on his site.

I need to leave early so the loop I'm think of going is about < 2hrs and < 20mi. If your looking for more I can send you in the right direction and PacMan knows the area pretty well to.

Come on Mark, you have to show up. It is a pretty easy ride.

Spinning is what makes it worse. I get that sometimes since I blew out my knee in High School playing Basketball.

When I get it that it doesn't really hurt it is more uncomfortable so I can understand if he sits this one out.

I might be going back Sunday or Monday so when I know for sure I'll post then to see if he wants to come down for either of those days.

Ibuprofen is good ish so I think he will make it.

We can ease the ride up a bit for you. I wasn't really looking to do 20mi today... Lets just pick off the fun sections if that will help.

This trail is very easy half of what we will be riding is flat fire road. This is where they have the "family trail day" ride where you bring your beach cruiser and the kid trailer. The challenging part is the route you take and the cadence you keep. This is on par with Lake Hodges if you've done that or maybe the Grasslands loop in MTRP with Spring Canyon and some extra mileage. No worries it won't kill you.

Man, you guys don't let up . I couldn't even walk this morning but it's loosened up a bit and swelling is down...I'll head out there and just see what I can/can't do. Maybe it will warm up and be fine...

This is what I get for doing the "other" aerobic exercise: jogging. Efffff jogging. My joints "just say no." 12 years of soccer killed my knees I'll stick with mtb...

Oh yeah, someone remind me to check the tension of the rear wheel in the dropouts

Well, knee pain getting better or worse is totally dependant on the type of injury.

Free spinning could just as easily make it feel better, whereas a lot of climbing (torqueing and high resistance mashing) could make it worse.
