Mammoth Labor Day Weekend

I am thinking about going up to Mammoth for Labor Day. Anyone interested? My family has a house up there and some people can stay there cheap. I will probably go up Friday after work and come back Sunday or Monday. Only a month left before the place is closed.

Me and my buddy are planning on going up that weekend. Haven't made lodging arrangements yet.
Where in Mammoth is the place located? and how much? how many rooms/beds?
and finally...are you sure you want to invite strangers from the internet into your family's place?

I have to admit that my idea was not to invite a bunch of internet strangers to my house. That does sound a little risky. I have met and ridden with many of the people on this site and I suppose they are who I was thinking of when I threw out the invite. That being said I am not opposed to meeting some new riders. Everyone that I have met from this site has been great. I'll send you a PM Stinkyrider, although your screen name doesn't do you any favors.

i do know what you mean though. i had quite a few people up at my house in Utah this last spring. some highly questionable blokes in the group (like this crazy brit fellow, that guy is the kind you want to avoid!).

everyone treated my place up there with respect, but i had ridden with nearly all of them (except that Chaos guy, I still feel bad for making him ride his big bike...).

my take on it is this... if one of the people on here wanted to go up and vandalize or otherwise harm someone else's property, they probably wouldn't last long. i am of the opinion that it doesn't take long to see someone's true character when they are suffering in the mountains on a bike.

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like you know exactly what I was thinking. 99 times out of 100 people are going to be respectful. If some riders from here did come up and trash the house, word would spread quickly.
As for my little princess she is becoming more of a princess every day, despite my best efforts.




Of course I am biased but yes she is cute. The problem is that she knows it. She is already a big flirt. I think I need to buy a shotgun.

I consulted with my buddy, Chuck. We are going to get our own place up there. Thanks for the offer though. Maybe we can meet and ride up there?
Neither of us have ridden the Mammoth bike park. It would be nice to have someone in the know to show us around.

It was good meeting you two up at SART and Snow Summit last weekend.

Today's weather in Mammoth: Pouring rain. Much to my surprise when I checked out the live webcam, everything was soaked with puddles of water everywhere. Alright, traction!

Meeting for a ride sounds good. My plans have changed a little and I am heading up Friday morning. As far as caravaning goes I live in Kernville, which is several hours from LA.
