SART Night Ride 9-8-07 7pm to ???

I am actually trying to see if there is some interest in a night assualt on SART, Saturday 9-8-07, meeting around 7pm at Southfork. This will be a Southfork to Angelus Oaks with a shuttle back to Southfork.

Myself and a few others are going to do this regardless but I want to see if there are others interested in camping at the campground across the street for a little post-bonfire and beers!

Essentially we would meet at 7pm at Southfork, organize the shuttles - which with driving back to Angelus and back up should take 40 minutes total- and clip in around 8pm. This will be a stay together ride the whole way and I would highly recommend a solid lighting system and a back up. There really are not any bailout points if your lights go out so that could really suck!
I would think that we would be looking at around 2 and half hours? ride time with perhaps a beerstop or 2 on the way down! If we are making goodtime we could always add the post office loop once we get to Angelus Oaks....it would be a shame not to hit that cruiser too!

If there is enough interest we can get some campsites set up otherwise if there is less then 10 we can drive up another 20 minutes from Southfork and crash at our cabin in Big Bear.

To hell with shuttling! Why not start at Southfork and do an out-and-back to the post office.

If burn time for lights is an issue, maybe we can start at midnight. Daylight is only 6 hours away, and we probably won't have the lights on for the entire time.

hey Justin (jeff?). How about if we climb it before the rest of the Shuttle Monkies and just meet up with everyone @ the top? we could start around 4 or 5?

Justin - definitely go with Jose's idea... Unless you've got really good lights, 6 hours isn't enough to last!

Don't forget it's staying dark a bit later every morning. Er...right?

Sorry superstars! I was trying to make it workable for ALL but hey, what the hell was I thinking!!

I am all about the big ride but I have to work until 5pm, should be able to get there by 6:30pm and then forward from there but you hardcore guys are more than welcome to hook up at Southfork around 8pm and join us for the way down.....I was hoping that by offering a top to bottom with a shuttle back we could get some new faces up at SART and at night I can only imagine the carnage of a Angelus to Southfork and back to Angelus route, its hard enough in the daylight!
