Default Lake Hodges--North side Wednesday 8/15

Hitting up the north side of Lake Hodges Wednesday afternoon at 3PM. I will be SS'ing but the pace will be as fast as I can turn my 32:20. I have to be done by 4:30PM. So still an easy pace, but need to leave by 3PM sharp and no messing around on the trail (at least not for me). I park in the dirt lot behind the Chevron. I'll be in a Red Ford Freestyle.

Directions: I-15 exit Via Rancho Pkwy. Turn right into the Chevron station and drive out the back driveway to the dirt lot directly behind, off of Sunset.

For an idea: http://www.mountainbikebill.com/LakeHodgesNorth.htm

I should be able to make it. It all depends on when I get back from my "road trip"

Pac: I was laughing to myself the whole way home. I have no idea how I possibly got out of that bridge disaster so easily...I also couldn't prop my bike up nose down on that tree again if I tried! Sooo funny. Good ride--thanks.

Ya, that was quite the trick

I was so busy thinking "WTF?" I didn't even think to bust out the camera. It definitely could've turned out worse.

It was nice meeting you. Good ride too, but man it was "hotter that a snake's @$$ in a wagon rut." (name that movie).

See you Friday.

Yeah, waaaay too hot. I'm still not really recovered...headache is setting in now. Friday is supposed to be ~91F up here, so I figure it will be 3-5 degrees warmer on the dirt. Hmm.

I always got headaches when I rode in the heat until I tried Elete Water. I can't recall having a headache since using the drops in my camelbak or water bottle. And no, I don't taste the salt.

I always ride LC, where the pleasant ocean breeze keeps my cool!

Cool, I'll check it out. Honestly though, it was just unreasonably warm--not the type of heat I like to ride in at all. The trail was just hot as hell...I'd guess 100+ in some parts.

I cheated and looked it up...let's see if anyone else gets it.
