Love San Clemente single tracks. Do it about every other week. This Sat I will be doing something in the Santa Ana's.

I road there for the first time last week, nice fun loop on some fast and buff singletrack. I think I'll be making it a once a week after work ride. Keep your eyes peeled for Rampage/Nano tread marks...

That's the third time today I've messed up "road" and "rode", very strange.

from kid friendly to behind the seat steep stuff

I ride a nice loop that goes around Talega and then the single tracks. We have ridden them all the way to San Onofre. And the best part is I leave right from my house

I did the loop from my house as well. I live on Miramar and just cruised on up Pico. The next time I go I was thinking about heading home via Christianitos and the Trestles instead of heading back up the fireroad. I love finding a good ride that doesn't require driving.

Talking FYI guys...

Most of these single tracks were built by TWTF (Team What the F*ck)... yeah, that's their name & they've been around for many years. Most of these guys ride rigid single speeds and drink copious amounts of that amber fluid. Since this is on state park land (San Onofre) and hasn't really been approved by the state, they try and take a low profile... I've never seen a ranger back there.

They really appreciate it when coming down to ride if you take 15 minutes or so and help keep the trails in good order... also bring beer as they're sometimes in the Steed parking lot. They are a group of real characters!

I have run into those guys a few times. They had some interesting names for some of the trails. The one that sticks out in my mind is "No Tools". You guessed it they made it without tools.

Duno when the last time you were back there but the state park has made a bunch of improvements. The trails are now marked with maps, there are wood bridges and added a few new trails!

It is now a web of connecting trails

heading up La Pada(sp) around the watertower, across Pico and then hit the single tracks, take one of the fireroads back up and home. Sometimes I add another up and down.
