Sounds like I missed a good time... I was just too tired after getting home from Ocotillo. I'll be there in the future though.

Nice!!

Andrea didn't come out?? If you see Franky again tell her she should've gone on the road ride instead

Ya, we can absolutley do the south side first next weekend.

Ya, we should be logging some good miles next weekend. LPQ Saturday will be around 15-ish miles. Midnight Madness that night is supposed to be 20 and then another 13-20 Sunday afternoon. Sounds like good times to me

My guess is I'll be too tired to make the early start. How long will you guys be there? I'd like to go, but I don't think I can get there that early. If you guys will be there for awhile, maybe I could come up around noon??

We'll be riding from 9 am to 4pm ~

Justin got hurt, so we bailed around 3:30 last weekend (still could've gotten 1-2 runs in, since they are open til 5pm on Sat's).

Let me know. I'll give you my cell # if you want to call us in the a.m.

I can see the mileage, but to get that kind of elevation you gotta be throwing in Elfin??

And yes, Hodges is a good training ride on a SS. After all, the only people who need gears at Hodges are kids and newbies.

Sounds like fun--in a sort of masochistic kind of way. As soon as you heal up. this grasshopper would like to be "enlightened about the ways of Hodges".

I love the (what seems to be) majority opinion in SD that Hodges is a joke, but if you know where to look, there's lots of good stuff out there.

nope just ended up nose heavy on a huck poped out clean then I put it back in place. then rode back to truck . ice .then next day had it looked at $40.00 he said i was lucky it was clean and that i did a good job putting it back in place cleanly. I take ibp's to get me thru work cant lift heavy objects unless its a large bale washed up on the beach . and of course cant risk riding and falling on it . sucks but it could have been worse. so now i just chase the budweiser bottle hanging in front of me on the stationary bike not!!

Hodges can be as flat and boring as you want it to be...but try to tell that to the several that have lost their lives on the trails there. Hodges claims many injuries on its "flat and boring" stretches.

I personally love it and all the connecting systems.

The deaths that I know of were caused primarily to the rider not wearing a helmet.

Justin--your crash was at the creek, at the bottom of the really steep hill not far from the marina, right?? I have heard of 2 people that died there, both not wearing a helmet.

Countless others have been seriously hurt on the 3' high jump/kicker on the upper singletrack. My dad is one, Evil Chocula's buddy another, I've read 4-5 different stories on MTBR about people getting messed up on that jump.

There used to be a jump/kicker at the bottom, where the upper singletrack drops back down to the fireroad and I heard that people were always getting hurt there and when one rider died, the rangers bulldozed it.

Granted, I heard all these from other people and who knows where they got the info, but I know one of the guys who told me really well. He is a long time San Diego resident, a long time MTBer and has no reason to lie to me.
