This is a beginner mountain bike ride. Will ride with the slowest rider. This is a no drop ride no one will be left behind. If you are sloooow and uncoordinated you will fit right in. If you are a sandbagger - you can ride with my daughter Julia (12). Or you can share your riding skills with the beginners.
Hiking your bike up a hill is acceptable and totally awesome. It's really good for your arms too. Place: Peters Canyon/meet at front entrance on Canyon View St. You will need $3.00 for parking or you can park at the Ralphs Shopping Center on Jamboree & Chapman and ride your bike into the park. Time: 9:00 a.m. This will not be a fast ride. If we get a mixed group we can split up beginners/Intermediate. I am a slow struggling mountain biker. If you ride past me - I don't care. Been left behind many times. It only makes you better. Of course there's always those few people that are waiting for you in the parking lot. That's how you know who the Bad A mountain bikers are. This ride is also posted on the ODC calendar. Surlygal, Have fun in Big Bear! I'll keep on eye out for your Whiting ride, I rode Whiting recently for the 1st time. I still have the bruises and a bump on my head. We also ride at Peters on Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. We meet at the back entrance on Peters Canyon St. When my little girl and I are alone - we do two loops around the park. When I have a group it's just one loop. Hope to ride with you soon. Foofighter, What???

Oh! Okay sorry I am sloooow. Sometimes it takes a while to catch on. Sure I'll keep that in mind.
Do you ever ride at the Ridge in Newport Beach. Everyone thinks I am crazy for having beginner rides there. They all complain the uphill is brutal. When isn't the uphill brutal?

Mtnbikerfred!
I can't wait to ride with Bailey. My ride with her is still my best rides of all. Bailey has alot of heart and she will be leaving you behind. You just wait! Don't you crash that new Kona into my Ironhorse - you don't want any dent's on that new bike. See you tomorrow,

It's located at...
DIRECTIONS: The upper entrance to the park is at the end of Ridge Park Road. From north OrangeCounty take the 55 south to the 73 south. Get off at Newport Coast Drive. Go right past San Juaquin Hills Rd, then at Ridge Park Rd, go left all the way up to the end and park there. From the south Take the 73 fwy to Newport Coast Drive. Go Left (south) to Ridge Park Rd. Go left all the way up to the end and park there. This is my favorite place to ride. I like to ride down all the way down El Moro to the other side of the park. Then you have to ride all the way up. I hear there is a really nice singletrack. Never seen it.

Steve,
Thanks for joining us. Over lunch we decided your new mountain biking name is STEVE. Mtnbikerfred, See what I mean? I always end up with the advanced riders. I'll continue my search for beginner riders. I posted a pic of todays ride in my album at this site. This beginner ride was very much fun. Thanks,

Great Ride Guys. I'm still kinda spent, but feeling better. I look forward to riding with all of you again. Bailey bought a new helmet. A Skateboard Helmet (See Julia, sometimes we DO listen to a twelve year old)!! So she'll be coming along on the next one.
