Dean, I meant what I said about using my front wheel or rotor if you need to (or my bike for that matter). I'd probably feel better if at least part of my bike hits those trails

Sorry it's taking me so long to put my 2 cents in. It's been 5 straight days on the bike and I have been saving all my energy for the rides. This being my first time to Tahoe...each day has been absolutely awsome.
The Sponner to Kingsberry ride wasn't a long ride, but it has been the tuffest so far. It was approximately 12 miles, the first 6 was mostly climbing. So I really tried to pace myself especially in this altitude. As you can see from the pictures once you reach the peak it is absolutely worth every turn of the pedal. Trail head IMG_2548.JPG The trinaic trio! IMG_2546.JPG Dean riding it dirty IMG_2549.JPG Lynn making it look easy IMG_2550.JPG I can take this view 24/7...which is pretty much a given here IMG_2553.JPG Most of the pix were taken before the last 1/3 of the trail which was much more technical. There are lots of drops and climbing up rock sections. We started to consider if it wouldn't make more sense to start the ride in the opposite direction to get the technical sections out of the way when we had more energy. The weather has been perfect everyday, usually in the 70's. We have been starting our rides between 10-11am, it's never been too hot because you're riding in and out of covered forest most of the time. The middle section proved to be the funnest, with a flowing decent before the climb out. We shuttled this ride, if you did it as an out and back get there early and plan for a full day of riding. ~ccs
