Well, the ride we're leading has us going up Noble Trail, cutting over to the road, climbing up Indian Creek, climbing up Noble, a loop around Big Laguna, maybe climbing up Middle Earth and descending, loop around, descend BMX, descend Noble, then either bailing on the road, or climbing up Whore and then descending Extra Credit.

If others want to lead a different ride that's cool, but there's no way you can plan regroups if everyone is doing a different ride. We've tried with friends before and they just don't work.

If anyone isn't planning on doing our route, please change your RSVP to maybe and/or set up a different ride for this day. It'll get too confusing to keep track of everyone otherwise.

On SJT there were a few people that broke off, but with NO plans of meeting back up. That is the only way the group breaks up IMO.

Sometimes people bail out early at the bottom to skip climbing Whore, that is fine with me. At that point we don't expect to try and coordinate people riding the rest of the trail together.

Faster riders can ride ahead, BUT we do frequent re-groups. If someone rides off the front and takes a wrong turn, they are on their own. I am not going to go on some silly rescue mission because someone was impatient.

If people don't want to ride "with the group", don't go on a "group ride"!

I don't really like being a nazi, but if I am responsible for a group then I think that being able to take head counts at re-groups and such are important. If people break off, then I cannot be responsible for them.

Besides... if you break off the group then the paparazzi cannot photograph you!!!!!
I love it when you talk this way... but you're right!

So basically nature takes care of the slow riders? So as long as I'm not DFL the mountain lion won't catch me.

As Justin said, there are many regroups and the pace is casual. As long as you aren't walking the whole ride, you'll be fine. Hammerheads know this and spend their time waiting for us slow pokes. Also, Justin will be climbing on the SlowCom, so you'll actually see him on the climb.

That being said, as long as you can bust out the Daley Double this Sunday without being totally destroyed at the end, you should be fine.

Also, since I'm parking my car at the top stocked with water, maybe I should leave my Haro on the roof rack so I can stop by the car before the ride down and switch bikes.

Just kidding.

Just been confirmed today, I'll be doing trail work in Trabuco on the 15th. As much as I would love to join you guys, I've committed to this already. I figure, it'll be a good chance to stash water on Holy Jim for the up coming training rides. Have fun all. I know you will.

I'd say 7:30. Riding by 8. If temps remain cool maybe slightly later, but with this many people - the earlier the better!

Question Car Pooling down to Noble

I want to arange to meet for car pooling down to Noble from the South OC area. I suggest that we meet at the Junipero Serra carpool parking lot off of the 5 South at 6 am. It takes 1 1/2 hours to drive down to the Alpine area. That puts us there around 7:30 am.. Allison wants to be riding by 8 am. Who's interested in carpooling and if you can drive, how many riders can you take?

I would like to join the carpool group. If there is no room, I can drive down and take one other bike and rider.
