Default Update...

There's a good amount of peeps signed up, so I wanted to point out that if there's another big heat wave we may need to postpone.

It's one thing to ride with 20 people when it's like 85 out, another when it's 100+.

Hoping the cooler weather we had today lasts and we can do this ride! This weekend the temps are supposed to be in the low 80s and partly cloudy, which would be pretty perfect.

Will definitely update mid next week once we can check out the weather projections.

Nancy - I think you guys would like parts of it. Not sure if Roger will enjoy ALL of the climbing You guys are welcome to join, though. If you guys decide to shuttle you can always do a run and plan to meet us at the road crossing before the swoopy section mebbe around 3? I don't think cell's work up there, unfortunately, otherwise we could try to call and coordinate. It's hard to judge when we'll be descending.

It's nice that there are some descents thrown in with climbing, so it's not a solid climb all morning. There's a climb, a descent, a climb, a descent, a climb, a descent.. a climb.. a descent.. a fairly flat loop, a climb.. a descent.. fairly flat, descending, climbing, descend, descend, descend, descend, climb, descend, then either shoot out to the road and descend, or climb, and descend.

(unrelated, but I didn't know what else to choose).

To be honest if you put a 32T ring on my Demo I may need to suffer and climb that.

Wait, what am I thinking?! I need the small ring.

Thumbs up Leaving the 29erSS at home for this one!

All I know is that I'm bringing a squishy bike with 5.5" of travel... much more FUN coming down! I hear you Allison about the heat. You can practically die (very little breeze in the valley) climbing back out... hopefully, the weather will cooperate!

Looking forward to this...

I've got it worked out again with either my friend Jeremy or Mark/Sladnas to leave my car at the top with 2-5 gallon bottles of water for everyone to be able to refill in case the water is off/undrinkable.

Doug, appreciate it! Just make sure your buddy doesn't snap his frame again at the very beginning of the ride

We'll probably also plan on hitting up the campground if you don't feel like getting up extra early.

Well, let's just say I plan on leaving ice for the water (it will be warm from sitting in my car all day) as well as snacks--so it's no trouble.

Aw man, lost track of the date and committed to something else. Looks like this ride will continue to elude.

Could you do a guy a favor and leave the cameras at home, at least? No?! Don't make me pray for scorching temps!

I am so psyched for this ride! I've been away from Noble for too long and it'll be great to see all my STR peeps again.

In my defense, I only mentioned it at the regroup at Glass Rd and only pulled it out there for the pic. I didn't eat it until the turn around at the campground--which we didn't get to until like 3PM--well after lunch.

The steak was only a 5-6 ouncer too, so it wasn't like full on Outback Steakhouse action.

I'll prob bust out the boneless skinless chicken action at Noble

i Actually tried to get the photos in Post #1 instead of in the ride notes, but they went in the ride notes anyway. I posted the ride, then hit reply and posted photos, and they got stuck together..

Just to clarify: I'll be bringing water and ice for everyone, but you're all on your own as far as food goes. I'm only gonna break out the Hibachi, not a huge gas grill

Allison, I have a feeling that a group this large will be breaking into smaller groups and meeting back up at certain points... I'm sure some riders will want to take the road up instead of Indian Creek. There will also be some that will want to put the hammer down as well... should be interesting.... but a lot of fun!
